New step towards the execution of the study on the incinerations of Bisphenol A in La Aljorra.
This Tuesday, the councilor of the area of ​​Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón, held a working meeting with the general director of Environment of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Juan Madrigal.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the regional body and was attended by technicians from both administrations.
MEASUREMENTS ON THE INCINERATIONS OF BISPHENOL A
In relation to the aforementioned study, a pioneer in Europe, and which will take place in La Aljorra, an upcoming meeting was agreed upon, to be held next week.
Participate technicians of the City of Cartagena and members of the Directorate General of Public Health and the General Directorate of Environment to advance in the location where to install the 'white station', responsible for collecting the same parameters as in La Aljorra.
This is the first stage of the study consisting of carrying out a documentation task, through the collection of data over a period of fifteen days, the results of which will be compared with those obtained later in La Aljorra.
Thus, the next week the location will have to be determined, in a municipally owned building, and priority will be given to La Palma and Pozo Estrecho as definitive destinations.
Once the place has been chosen, the permit will be processed, which is a regional competence.
Once this protocol is solved, the works are expected to begin before the end of the month.
In this way, a comparison can be established to draw conclusions in a more detailed manner, with examples from different points of the municipality.
MEASUREMENT IN THE ALJORRA
The study will continue with the measurements in La Aljorra.
The work will be carried out on the roof of the local doctor's office, a place that has received technical approval for criteria of proximity, exposure and accessibility.
WHAT WILL THE WORK CONSIST OF?
The measurement tasks will consist in the collection of particles through filters through which the air will pass.
After this reception, the laboratory will proceed to the separation of particles, in order to detect the compound under study (BPA).
The equipment contracted has the capacity to admit particles with a range of 24 hours, for 15 consecutive days.
However, it has been decided that the laboratory team travel to La Aljorra on a weekly basis.
The total study will last for six months or a year.
It is expected to start during the month of December.
SABIC and Energy Works will assume the total cost of the action, acquiring the equipment and contracting the external laboratory that will be responsible for the study.
