A square of the University District, at the foot of the hill of Despeñaperros, will be named after the Cartagena poet María Teresa María Cervantes Gutiérrez.
Today the decree of the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has been made public, through which the procedures for this are initiated at the request of the Lucerna Cultural Association.

The poet, born in Cartagena on November 8, today as in 1931, donated her legacy to the City Council last year, both literary, furniture and paintings.
María Teresa Cervantes has developed an extraordinary literary career throughout her life.
As a poet she has published 30 books and part of her work was included in the "· Anthology of Spanish feminine poetry" carried out by Carmen Conde in 1975. Also as a Cartagena she has made a homeland during the 50 years that she has been absent from her city, imparting teaching Spanish, both in Paris and in Bonn.
The proposed public space is a plaza that currently has no name, at the confluence of Lagueneta, San Crispin and Loyalty streets.
STREET FOR ANGEL ROCA
Along with the decree of María Teresa Cervantes, others from the Mayor's Office have also been published to initiate the corresponding files of honors and distinctions that will be submitted to public information for a period of one month.
Among them is the street of Ángel Roca, requested by numerous entities and groups, to honor the troubadour and author of the letter of the anthem to Cartagena.
The street that bears his name will be a new one, which connects López Pinto square with San Fernando street.
The file for the nomination of the exhibition hall on the ground floor of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, which will be named after the photographer Carlos Gallego, requested by the Association of Graphic Informants of the Region of Murcia, has also been initiated;
as well as the Parque de Andrés Bernabé located between the Urbanization Alcalde de Cartagena and La Vaguada and with which, at the proposal of the Neighborhood Association of Los Popos, we want to recognize the work of the person who for years has fostered the creation and planting this green area.
