On Monday, November 6, the usual program of school visits to the Security Park began, which includes the tour of the Local Police and Fire Brigade facilities, and this course adds Civil Protection as a novelty.
The students of the CEIP "Luis Calandre" of Santa Ana of 4th, 5th and 6th were in charge of inaugurating the program organized by the Department of Education of the City of Cartagena, directed by David Martínez.
In addition to the work and the means used by both Fire and Local Police, this course the students will know the work performed by the Civil Protection rescuers in the Cartagena coast, the equipment used for rescue, signaling with flags, the meaning of the same, the importance of respecting them and the advice to follow during bathing in the sea.
Councilman David Martinez has stressed the importance of incorporating this preventive information into the school year so that its effectiveness is greater during the summer season, teaching the children how to behave on beaches and observe the indications of lifeguards.
To do this, the students receive a diptych with activities to be carried out after the talk in order to strengthen the advice and information received during the visit.
It is expected that 1,400 school children from 1st to 6th grade of Primary Education.
24 educational centers in the municipality will visit the Security Park during this school year 2017/18.
