The plenary session of the Cartagena City Council, meeting this morning with extraordinary character, under the presidency of the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has approved a budget modification of some 400 thousand euros intended to provide economic coverage for part of the overtime, which within the Agreement of the Special Dedication Regime (RED), the municipal government agreed with the unions last September.
Specifically refers to the overtime expense of the municipal brigades Infrastructures and Sports and comes to complement another amendment approved by the last Local Government Board in the amount of 800 thousand euros to extend the overtime of Local Police and Fire.
The vote has counted on the favorable votes of the councilors of PSOE, MC and Citizens, and the votes against PP and CTSSP.
On behalf of the municipal government, the Councilor for Finance and Interior, Francisco Aznar, explained that this extension of hours has been motivated by the security measures imposed after the terrorist attacks, by the large number of events and activities that have been held and the shortage of the municipal staff, stagnated by the application of the Budget Stability Law that has prevented covering some 110 places that have been registered in Local Police, Fire Brigades and Brigades since 2006.
The councilor of CTSSP, Francisco Muñoz, has criticized the policy of faits accomplis and that the money for the modification is taken from necessary items such as cleaning or maintenance of gardens.
Manuel Padín of Citizens, has also criticized the lack of foresight of the Government and the form that presented this modification, but has announced that he would support it for responsibility, since the municipal workers were not to blame for it.
José López for Movimiento Ciudadano has indicated that they also supported the agreement for responsibility, although his group is in favor of not carrying out more overtime and that the templates are sufficiently covered.
For its part, Esperanza Nieto of the Popular group has criticized the lack of foresight of the Municipal Government regarding the deviation of the 2.5 million euros initially budgeted, which now have had to be supplemented by 1.2 million euros (800 thousand euros). in Government Board for Police and Firefighters, and 400 thousand in the Plenary for Brigades).
25 THOUSAND EUROS FOR THE CARTAGONOVA CESPED
The plenary session has also approved, with the only vote against CTSSP, a budgetary modification amounting to 25 thousand euros that will be used to subsidize the Fútbol Club Cartagena for the installation of the new lawn of the Cartagonova Municipal Stadium.
From the municipal government has been explained that this formula was the most agile to get the grass was ready for the game of the Copa del Rey with Sevilla and the Spanish team.
The work, which has been contracted by the FC.
Cartagena, has amounted to 145 thousand euros, of which 25 thousand will be provided by the City through this grant, as had been committed by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón;
and 45 thousand from the Autonomous Community, through the Ministry of Culture, Education and Sports and the rest through the box office of the meeting that the selection will play next week in the Cartagonova.
CTSSP, which has unsuccessfully requested the withdrawal of this matter, has criticized through its councilor Francisco Muñoz the supposed irregularity of this process, since in his opinion a subsidy will be given when the work is already done and should also have made the City Council itself.
From Citizen, Manuel Padin, has indicated that he did not doubt its legality since it was the only way to have the stadium ready for the game of the Spanish national team and that's why he voted in favor.
For its part, Esperanza Nieto, of the Popular group that has also voted in favor, has focused its criticisms on how the matter had been taken to the Finance Committee in which a series of doubts had been raised that had not yet been officially answered. .
