The Government Delegation abandoned yesterday to its fate sixty immigrants who came to our shores and who were wandering the streets of the city throughout the night.
"This situation is intolerable because of humanity, health security and citizen security, it seems intolerable that the government delegation did not inform us or ask us for help," said Mayor Ana Belén Castejón.
The first mayor recalled that whenever you ask for help from the Department of Social Services is provided immediately.
Castejón has described as inhuman to abandon a group of people who have just arrived on our shores aboard a boat and has reiterated that the minimum was to offer them accommodation, food and clothing, and, from there, have adopted the measures that were necessary.
Ana Belén Castejón has been in contact with the Government delegate to show her discomfort and indicate that from now on, when similar situations are repeated, immediately notify the Department of Social Services so that the necessary help can be provided.
Also, the first mayor will convene on Monday urgently to groups working with immigrants to see what steps need to be taken to prevent this situation from recurring.
