The university hospital complex of Cartagena, integrated by the hospitals Santa Lucía and Santa María del Rosell, has obtained the accreditation of the Teaching Unit of the specialty of Radiodiagnosis of the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, through a resolution of the General Directorate of Professional Regulation published last October.
The achievement of this accreditation will allow the hospital complex to offer one resident per year in the specialty of Radiodiagnosis, which guarantees that it will acquire all the competencies foreseen in the training program of this specialty, by having the service with the precise requirements and standards in human and physical resources, assistance activity, teaching and research activity and quality.
This new accreditation will increase the global teaching capacity of the university hospital complex in Cartagena, which currently has another 24 places authorized in other specialties.
The hospital services for which the facultative residents in Cartagena spend four and five years to complete their specialization are those of Clinical Analysis, Pathology, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Digestive Apparatus, Cardiology, General and Digestive Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, Endocrinology and Nutrition, Pharmacy, Intensive Medicine, as well as Internal Medicine, Pneumology, Neurology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Otolaryngology and Urology.
They also rotate in the specialties of Pediatrics, Pediatric Nursing, Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology, Obstetric-Gynecological Specialist Nursing (Midwives), Family and Community Medicine and Nursing.
In addition, two associated teaching devices have been accredited by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality for the Clinical Analysis Teaching Unit of the Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital and an associated teaching device for the Teaching Unit of Internal Medicine of the Morales Meseguer.
