The Joint Health Commission held on Thursday, November 2, its regular meeting chaired by the Councilor for Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón, and composed of representatives of the municipal groups of the City of Cartagena, as well as the Platform in Defense of Public Health 'Save the Rosell'.
The main item on the agenda was the possible breach of Law 3/2016, of March 21, for the full operation of Santa María del Rosell as a general hospital.
To address this issue, councilors and members of the legal services of the municipalities of Cartagena, La Union and Fuente Alamo, and the Platform 'Save the Rosell'.
Thus, the usual intervenors of the Commission gave an account to the juridical ones on the antecedents that base this measure.
In this way, they knew both the points of the articulated not developed and the effective times in which it continues maintaining the fault.
LEGAL WORK BETWEEN VARIOUS ENTITIES
In this sense, the lawyers of the different participating entities, led by the lawyer of the Platform, and who participated for the first time in the meetings of the Joint Health Commission, raised their doubts about whether there is an object that could be appealed and if there is legitimacy regarding the 'Law of Rosell'.
Similarly, it should be noted that during the meeting on September 6, it was determined to join forces to define a joint strategy on the probable judicialization of the breach of the aforementioned Law.
For his part, the councilor of the area of ​​Quality of Life and president of the Joint Health Commission, Francisco Calderón, said after the meeting that "in accordance with what was agreed in the municipal plenary session" will continue gathering information to carry out an exhaustive monitoring of the 'Law of Rosell', so that on January 2 can verify what is the status of compliance and can be denounced "in the case that they have not met the eleven points that are stipulated in a general hospital."
Likewise, Calderón pointed out that they are going to "request the management of Area II of Health to convene the Monitoring Commission of Rosell and the Health Council." For this, the mayor concluded, he is progressing with the lawyers who are going to work together to verify the necessary information in order to carry out a legal follow-up of what, intuits, "will be a breach of the Law".
