The Department of Social Services and Project Abraham have launched a new edition of 'Educating in Family', a program of school support and family counseling designed to promote the motivation to learning, understanding this as the engine of integration.
Throughout the school year 2017/2018, a series of activities will be developed, whose main objective is to motivate mothers and fathers to deepen their own preparation and education, as well as that of their sons and daughters, to achieve family integration in the school community environment, with special emphasis on improving coexistence.
The Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martin, has indicated that for the development of this project are taken into account the entities working in the area and directly with children, such as schools, cultural centers, as well as other entities of the third sector, sports and leisure.
'Educating in Family', is developed in direct collaboration with the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena and the Neighborhood Association of the neighborhood.
The planned activities are many and varied.
For example, school support will be developed for minors who complete the last two years of Primary and two of Secondary Education.
Creative weekly coexistence workshops will be held, reading comprehension workshops, training workshops on new technologies and artistic expression, all of them aimed at children, while with mothers and fathers will work on new technologies, communication and guidelines for education .
Likewise, work will be carried out to encourage participation in formative and recreational activities that promote the associative fabric, such as the 'Los Geómetras' workshop developed at the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center.
