"Cartagena has always been the cradle of great voices and magnificent choral formations, which have managed to conquer the spectators with their great work."
These have been the words with which the Councilor for Culture, David Martinez, wanted to start the press conference today, October 31, of the presentation of the XXI Choral Song Show 'Maestro José Espinosa'.
The recital of choral singing will be held on the occasion of the feast of the patron saint of musicians, Santa Cecilia, at the Auditorium and Congress Center el Batel, on Saturday, November 25 at 6:00 p.m., with free admission until full capacity is reached. .
The exhibition also commemorates the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Polyphonic Choir Carthagonova, by maestro José Espinosa in 1978. Along with this emblematic choir, six other choirs will participate: Coro Rondalla A Son de Mar, Coral Ars Antiqua (Pacheco Tower) , Coral Sauces School, Coro Ntra. Sra. De la Asunción (Los Alcazares), University Choir of Albacete and the Harmonía Choir.
In total 220 choirs will sing in the sample of choral singing.
To commemorate the 40th anniversary, another series of events are being held, such as the concert on Saturday, November 5, at the Church of San Ginés de La Jara, which aims to bring music to all the delegations and neighborhoods of Cartagena .
The Councilor for Culture, has also praised the figure of maestro José Espinosa, who was founder and director for twenty-one years of the Choir Carthagonova, which bears the name of the show.
The teacher, also present at the press conference, has narrated the origins of the choir and his first recital in the courtyard of the Isaac Peral Institute, with whose students the group originated.
José Espinosa feels that the show is named after the great affection that is being processed by all the components that have been going on, over the years, by the Choir Carthagonova, from which great directors and singers of the lyrical singing career have come out.
Many of these are the directors of the groups participating in the twenty-first show of Choral Singing.
The teacher has concluded by saying with pride that, "perhaps what they learned in the Choir Carthagonova was the love of music, choral singing, companionship, and that enjoyment of music that can not be explained".
The performances of the seven colares will be held on November 25 at the Auditorium of El Batel, with free admission until full capacity is reached.
