The Unibono is renewed, a transport bonus that benefits the university community in their bus trips to the University.
The renovation has been held today, October 30, and is produced thanks to the agreement between the City of Cartagena, the Autonomous Community of Murcia and the bus company Alsa.
With this act, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón has resumed her institutional agenda, after her maternity leave.
Castejón said he was very satisfied with the renewal of this agreement, which will benefit the entire university community.
The presentation took place in the Plaza del CIM and along with the mayor of Cartagena were present the Minister of Development and Infrastructure, Pedro Rivera, the rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Alejandro Díaz and the Vice President of External Relations of the University Polytechnic, Antonio Ferrer.
The Unibono is a monthly voucher that costs € 20, available to the university community, with no travel limit and valid for all lines within the municipality that have as destination a university center.
According to the Minister of Development and Infrastructure, Pedro Rivera, the two lines that are most in demand are the number 2 that connects the city with the Catholic University and the number 7 that leads to the Alfonso XIII campus of the Polytechnic University.
Students, professors and workers of the 3 universities of Cartagena (Polytechnic University, Catholic University and Distance University), are those that are benefiting from this agreement.
Last year there were 131,000 users and data for this year until the month of September is 98,000.
Since 2015 this initiative is a success and since last year has improved by 12%.
The use of this voucher implies the use of public transport, which reduces traffic, reducing CO2 emissions, which helps to take care of the environment.
DISPLACEMENTS BETWEEN CARTAGENA-MURCIA
As for the discounts available to the university community for their trips between Cartagena and Murcia, an agreement is maintained on the bus lines that make this route.
On the line of trains of average distance that realizes that same passage the university students also have a service of discounts.
