The students of 5th grade of the Salesian school have had the opportunity to get even closer to athletics in their own educational center, through the ADE Program of the Council of Sports of the City of Cartagena and under the coordination of the Club Athletics Elcano.
This format of the ADE, allows to carry out the activity in the own school, with the aim of reaching a larger number of students who feel they share the experience.
The first part of the day has been developed in the classroom, where the students have had a meeting with Alfredo Castilla and Tońi López, top officials and who also work as trainers at CA Elcano.
In the classroom, videos have been projected on elite athletics and another on "Playing athletics", an introduction to athletics for children.
Questions have also been asked on the part of the students, interested in these, for subjects such as: preparation, food, and technical issues of athletics.
In the second part of the day, the students have practiced in the sports court the "Playing to athletics" adapted to the tests of speed, jumps and launches and relays.
All the students have had the opportunity to participate and practice athletics, with the particularity of having done it in their school.
The Salesian College, as well as the other centers of Cartagena and region that are participating in the activities organized by the ADE Program, aim to bring their students to the sport, a priority objective of the Department of Sports and that develops fully through this Program.
The ADE program is organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena and the Official College of Graduates in Physical Education and Sport of the Autonomous Community.
