This morning, the Councilor for Sustainable Development, María José Soler, together with the Councilor of the Government José López, the general coordinator of Sustainable Development, Jesús Giménez, and municipal technicians, have moved to El Portús to meet with a representation of the collective neighborhoods of the locality.
The purpose of the visit was to give an account of the action that will aim at the settlement and consolidation of the Monte de las Casillas.
It is an action that will carry out the Sustainable Development area, within the Participatory Budgets of 2017.
The works have a double objective: on the one hand, to affect the security of the area.
Also, to increase the stability of the mountain, in delicate situation, aggravated by the inaction maintained in the time by previous public managers.
ADVANCED SOLUTION
The project is based on an advanced solution, already successfully tested in other areas of the country.
To contribute to this we opt for a high quality network (with anti-corrosion treatment), and with a great capacity for durability.
For the purpose of consolidation, a slurry of cement is injected into the rock (contributes to the sealing), on supports previously enabled.
The works, valued at 164,000 euros, include the maintenance and stability of the slope located in part of the western slope of Monte de las Casillas, avoiding possible landslides that could affect the existing homes at the foot of the slope.
It will act to eliminate the cause and damages currently suffered by the slope area, preventing them from reproducing, as well as maintenance works on the heatsinks of the dynamic screen.
The measures to be implemented will guarantee the tranquility of the residents, without prejudice to further progress in other solutions that will materialize in the future.
PENDING OF REGIONAL AND STATE AUTHORIZATION
The project, whose drafting phase has concluded, requires a final requirement for its exit to hiring;
the authorization of the higher administrations (Demarcation of Coasts - Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment) and (Directorate General of Natural Environment - CARM).
The process was requested during last summer and it is waiting for the approval that allows the Executive to begin its bidding.
NEW LIGHTING IN GALIFA
Subsequently, the neighbors have been informed of the next action on public lighting in Galifa, on access to El Portús.
In particular, ten new points of light, equipped with LED technology, will be installed, thereby alleviating an unexplained shortage maintained for many years.
Due to the proximity to the sea, glass fiber reinforced polyester (FRP) columns, seven meters long, will be used.
With a distance between each of 25 meters, the initiative includes the realization of the foundations and the necessary crossings to connect the existing installation.
It is a measure devised from the area of Sustainable Development, and that will be extended by the councils of the municipal term.
The planned investment in Galifa will reach approximately 20,000 euros.
