The Murcian Association of Affected by Pathologies of the Retina, Retimur, celebrated on Saturday a day of coexistence, which was attended by the acting mayor, Juan Pedro Torralba.
The day began with the lecture on Food in Retinal Diseases, given in the Hall of Ceremonies of the Palace Hall by Dr. María Dolores Pinazo, an ofatalmologist and expert in Nutrition and researcher of the Laboratory of Ophthalmological Advances 'Santiago Grisolía' of Valencia.
Dr. Pinazo emphasized the importance of the ingestion of certain nutrients in the prevention and adjuvant treatment of the different retinal pathologies;
also offered an interesting catalog of recommended foods and advised against each of the most relevant eye diseases.
After the conference, a charity dinner was held at the Cartagena Regatta Club, where the II 'Luis Berrocal' Prize was presented, in memory of the founder of the association more than twenty years ago, in this occasion fell to the exconsejera of Health of the Autonomous Community, Encarnación Guillén.
The award was chaired by the acting mayor.
The president of the association Retimur, David Sánchez, thanked the reception and collaboration provided by the City of Cartagena for the celebration of this day of coexistence.
