Firefighters of the Fire and Rescue Service of the City of Cartagena (SEIS) carried out throughout the day of Wednesday 18 October and throughout the morning of today, a total of 12 interventions, in some of them participated also agents of the Local Police, as a result of the wind gust with water and electric apparatus that was registered in the municipality, the past noon, and the rain and wind gusts of the rest of the day.
Specifically the firefighters had to remove from the public road the branches of trees that the wind threw: two, in the urban helmet and another, in the rise of the Battery of Rabbits in Waste.
They also had to intervene by the fall of two rays: one that triggered a fire in the mount of Atamaría, next to the Urbanization Las Lomas del Campo de Golf;
and another one that fell on the cover of a building in the street Tierno Galván causing the detachment of rubble to the public highway.
Some facades of buildings had to be cleaned which were affected by the force of the water.
Rubén Darío Street, Local Police cordoned off the area of ​​passage in front of a façade whose balconies were very deteriorated, which the firefighters cleaned with carrycot and pick.
In the Islas Menores, in the Islas Canarias street, the wall of the second floor of a building collapsed and several aluminum fences were hung, reason why the street had to close to the traffic.
The firefighters proceeded to remove the debris from the road and fixed the fences to the facade, so that it was possible to reopen the passage in the street.
To complete the proceedings, the oil from the road was also cleaned as a result of a collision between three vehicles in Molinos Marfagones, a fallen tree and the branches of another party were removed in El Carmolí, and telephonic cables were re-raised fallen on the corner of Mío Cid and Alfonso VI streets.
