The Popular University has started the project 'Creciéndote', which is part of the School of Emotional Intelligence promoted in collaboration with the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Murcia.
It is aimed at the Parents' Associations of ten educational centers.
It is a pioneering project in the Region of Murcia and one of the few that are carried out in the national scope, whose objective is to promote personal and social welfare.
The Councilor for Education, David Martinez, visited these workshops yesterday and congratulated teachers and especially parents "for the responsibility of training in emotional intelligence, something that many people are reticent and that can bring great personal benefits" .
The Ampas selected to participate in this project are the following centers: Antonio Ulloa, Atalaya, Azorín, HH San Isidoro and Santa Florentina, Mare Nostrum, San Fulgencio and Virginia Pérez, in addition to the concerted centers La Vaguada, San Juan Bosco and Santa Joaquina de Vedruna.
This project is oriented towards personal growth and revolves around four themes: 'Emotional Intelligence for Life: how to be assertive', 'What do emotions serve?', 'Learning to solve conflicts' and' Learning to live the today and now ', which will be addressed in two sessions each.
This project has had an extraordinary impact on parents' associations, completing and sometimes exceeding expectations of enrollment.
After completing the sixteen-hour course, participants will have acquired important training to improve their personal and social well-being.
'Growing Up' is complemented by the emotional intelligence workshops that are given to the 5th and 6th grade Primary Education students of the mentioned centers, which have already begun.
These workshops are held in two sessions with the option of a third session.
"The workshops, which have already been carried out with the students, have achieved a remarkable success, favoring self-esteem, responsible attitude and conflict resolution," said the Councilor for Education.
