The acting mayor of Cartagena, Juan Pedro Torralba, has shown his direct rejection of the toll roads of the State of the Region, as proposed by the Association of Construction Companies and Concessionaires of Infrastructures (Seopan).
This proposal would suppose that the trip between Cartagena and Murcia would cost 5 euros.
"Our municipality is already very punished in the matter of road infrastructure as we pay to travel to Alicante and Almeria. We will not consent under any concept that we also impose tolls for moving around our Region. There are hundreds of Cartagena people every day that go to Murcia or they go through there for work reasons and we can not force them to pay ten euros a day round trip. It is inconceivable, "said Torralba.
The proposal of the employer Seopan includes the payment of 10 cents per kilometer for the use of state highways in order to pay for new investments.
"The tolls that Seopan proposes would penalize in a special way those who move daily from one place to another for work reasons.Carmen have no alternative roads as the motorway was made using the old national. avoid, but we would be forced to use them, "said the acting mayor.
