The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) today launched a campaign to promote recycling with the non-profit organization Ecoembes with the installation of 400 containers of paper and plastic spread over its three campuses.
"We want to be more consistent with the maintenance of the environment, reinforcing the management and recycling of materials that are discarded daily in the University and the urban waste that we generate," explains the Vice Chancellor of Campus and Sustainability, Marcos Ros.
The campaign, coordinated by the Labor Risk Prevention Service that manages waste in the Polytechnic, includes training for cleaning staff.
The UPCT already carried out selective collection of waste and has specific containers to deposit batteries and fluorescent tubes, as well as two green points for waste generated by laboratories and specific campaigns to collect dangerous substances and confidential documents.
