From next Monday 16 and until next October 29, citizens will be able to present their proposals for the new project of Participative Budgets that the City of Cartagena has put in place for this exercise.
The intention of the local Government is that it is the own Cartagena who decide on what works and infrastructure are invested the 2 million euros budgeted for this year and that will be divided between each of the seven districts in which the municipality has been divided.
In this way, each citizen registered in Cartagena and over 16 years can make up to 3 investment proposals for his municipality, which in a third phase must be accepted according to technical, economic and legal criteria.
In order to be able to present the proposals, the Department of Decentralization has made available to the citizens the web presupuestosparticipativos.cartagena.es which will allow them to be registered online, as well as in person at any of the Municipal Information and Processing Offices (OMITAS), distributed by the municipal term.
In addition, from the area of Decentralization is being studied to install collection points for proposals in those neighborhoods that lack OMITA, such as Urbanización Mediterráneo, Barrio Peral and San Antón.
"This year we want to expand the participation formulas so that everyone can participate.
In any case, it is important to make clear that there are expenses that are the responsibility of the Autonomous Community or the State Administration and that the municipalities can not do, so that citizens should focus on infrastructures that are our responsibility, "explained the acting mayor and Councilor for Decentralization, Juan Pedro Torralba.
It is therefore the second phase of this project, once concluded the round of information assemblies in each and every district, which ended last Wednesday in La Manga.
