The Local Government Board, meeting this morning on a regular basis, under the chairmanship of the acting mayor, Juan Pedro Torralba, has approved the commitment to include in the draft budget of 2018 the necessary credits for the contracting of works in the Market of Santa Florentina, for the amount of 156,000 euros.
The works promoted by the Economic Strategy Area represent the last phase of the remodeling and improvement of the market of supplies and contemplate the internal reform of the posts.
These works will add to the recent improvement in the installation of surveillance and security cameras in the premises, hired recently.
URBAN RESOURCES IN THE CASCO
Likewise, the Board of Governors has approved multi-annual expenditure of 350,000 euros for the years 2017 and 2018 for the contracting of the reform of the urban services of the streets: Beatas, Villalba Corta, San Cristóbal Corta, Ciprés, Don Roque and Plaza of Roldan.
As explained by the Councilor for Finance, Isabel Garcia, originally it is one of the commitments acquired at the time with the municipal group of Citizens, which was limited to the environment of the Plaza del Lago, but the Municipal Government has expanded to more streets of the Historic Quarter.
RISE OF 1 PERCENT FOR OFFICIALS
The Local Government Board has also approved a modification of the 2017 budget to address the 1% increase in the salaries of municipal public employees.
The proposal has been made in accordance with the General Budget Law of the State for 2017, and implies a credit transfer of 500,000 euros from the contingency Fund for budget execution to meet the salary increase of the City Council workers.
CATALOG OF REMEDIES
The Board of Governors has also approved a proposal of the Area of ​​Culture and Archaeological Heritage, the signing of an agreement with the Board of Directors and Administration of the Municipal Cemetery Our Lady of the Remedies to catalog and plan the conservation of the valuable architectural and artistic heritage of the cemetery .
According to the councilman Ricardo Segado said through this agreement, the Cemetery Board will contribute 5,000 of the 9,000 euros that will be used in the cataloging of all the tombs, pantheons and patrimonial elements that houses this Cartagena shrine, built at the end of the 19th century, in order to be able to plan their conservation and inclusion in the European Graveyards Network.
GRADUATES OF YOUTH CORRESPONDENTS
In another order of things the Governing Board has approved the commitment of expenditure and the basis of the call for 19 fellowships for the attention of juvenile information points.
These are the usual scholarships for youth correspondents in schools for the 2017-2018 academic year and will be allocated 5,700 euros.
SENTENCES FAVORABLE TO THE CITY COUNCIL
On the part of the municipal legal services has realized the sentence of the administrative court of Cartagena that has dismissed the claim of 1,643,899 euros filed by the company AZUCHE against the City of Cartagena.
The company claimed that amount plus interest for the rental of scaffolding that were installed in 2011 to support the walls of the old bullring.
The judge dismissed the lawsuit when considering that it was not the City Council that commissioned these tasks, but the regional public company Murcia Cultural, who succeeded the extinct foundation of the Amphitheater and later the Autonomous Community, as the holder of the lease.
He has also reported the sentence of the criminal court in Cartagena that exempts two municipal officials and the councilor of Urbanism, Joaquín Segado, from an alleged crime of administrative prevarication.
The judge understands that the origin of the facts was a modification of municipal planning that reclassified a building plot in La Azohía as a public space and that it was validly adopted by the Town Hall plenary;
so that the decree of expiration of the license granted before the modification of the planning and not executed, can not be considered an unjust resolution, determined the magistrate absolution of the officials and the responsible politician.
OTHER AGREEMENTS
Finally, and among other issues, the Local Government Board has approved the generations of credit necessary to incorporate into the budgets the European subsidy of 54,433 euros granted to the ADLE for the ERASMUS + project;
as well as the 16,940 euros of aid from HIDROGEA for the celebration of the XXIII edition of the festival La Mar de Músicas.
