The Carthagonova Polyphonic Choir celebrates its 4th Habaneras and Songs of the Sea Concert for Hispanic Heritage Day, which will take place this Thursday, October 12, in the Hall of the permanent exhibition of the National Museum of Underwater Archeology (Arqua).
The concert, directed by the director of the choir, Pedro Andrés García, will begin at 12.00 p.m.
The coral will offer part of its repertoire of habaneras and songs of the sea that arrived at Cartagena through the oceanic commercial routes that settled with the American continent.
The chosen repertoire includes several songs that emerged during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, an era in which trade between Spain and America was constant, especially with this area of the Caribbean.
Thus, the ARQUA is a perfect setting for this concert, as the Museum dedicates one of its sections to the disclosure of trade routes and treasures that those seafarers trains and carried across the ocean.
