AN EXPOSITIVE, EXCLUSIVE AND INNOVATIVE SPACE
For the exhibition of the exhibition The Arctic is broken, the R & D department of the "la Caixa" Welfare Projects has designed a special and innovative space, the UD 100. A system converts the box of a container into an exhibition space of 100 square meters free (in this case of 200), and a height in its central part of up to 5.5 meters.
The developed system also allows to join up to three UD 100, obtaining a space to accommodate exhibitions of up to 300 square meters.
In this case, the two UDS recreate the feel of the icy atmosphere of the Arctic with the help of music and sounds of this valuable part of the planet.
Thus, visitors will feel immersed in this remote and extraordinary place that is the Arctic.
A sophisticated hydraulic system of self-leveling controlled by a touch screen allows, in record time, that two technicians assume the tasks of deployment of the UD 100 from the complete opening of the cabin to the complete settlement in the field: one of them directs the movements and the other controls them, confirms or aborts before any unforeseen events.
The individualized system of anchoring to the ground allows in fact to correct unevenness of up to 3 percent.
Particular emphasis has been placed on the area of sustainability, specifically energy consumption, through double panels with air chamber, a concept that is diametrically opposed to the usual canvas used in tents.
The design of the roof, arranged in triangular form and with an adjustable hatch, also facilitates and in a controlled way the evacuation of the hot air accumulated in the upper zone.
Finally, a modern natural cooling system (free cooling) complements the optimization of the energy for the maintenance of the desired climate.
For illumination, the UD uses the LED system in the form of consumable foci and strips of low consumption.
With this new space, "la Caixa" Obra Social disseminates scientific, social and cultural knowledge to a wider audience.
These exhibitions, which travel through different towns and settle in spaces ceded by the municipalities, aim to reach the maximum possible number of people.
