The Auditorio del Parque Torres hosted a very special night on Saturday, October 7, with the celebration of the Festival 'El Grito de Asido', an event in which families with people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities made themselves known to Cartagena and sought to raise funds to continue working for the association ASIDO Cartagena.
The event became a real party with the performances of the groups Nena Rose, Pico Esquina and Ngoma África, who acted unselfishly to support this non-profit association.
The festival was attended by the delegate councilor of Social Services and Social Mediation, Carmen Martín del Amor, who showed her support to the association and its president, Juan Pedro Sánchez.
The benefits obtained from the sale of tickets to attend the event and the collection of bars will be used in full to the professional supports that facilitate the inclusion of children with Down syndrome and intellectual disability with the rest of their classmates in schools the region.
This project consists of the reinforcement provided by the teachers and monitors of the association offering school support in the classrooms of the schools.
In addition, the festival contributes to visualize the need for the educational inclusion of children with Down Syndrome in schools.
The families and professionals of Asido Cartagena have been preparing this music festival for five years with much effort and enthusiasm but, above all, with the collaboration of companies and institutions such as the City of Cartagena, which cedes the use of the Parque Torres auditorium.
For their part, the local groups also collaborate making possible a varied and quality poster.
This year has featured the best Pop Rock with the versions of Nena Rose, the classic Rock & Roll with Pico Esquina and the African rhythms of Ngoma Africa.
In addition, the attendees were able to immortalize the evening taking some photographs in the photocall that was installed in the enclosure.
