The Museum of the Roman Theater of Cartagena, whose patronage is made up of the Community, the City Council and the Foundation Cajamurcia, expands its schedule and opening days during the next week on the occasion of the October bridge.
The museum will be open from Tuesday to Saturday including Thursday 12th, Hispanic Heritage Day in its usual daily schedule, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Sunday it will also expand its opening, so that it can be visited from the 9:30 p.m. until 5 p.m.
The director general of Cultural Heritage, Juan Antonio Lorca, explained that "thanks to this expansion, which is the most visited museum in the Region of Murcia will remain open for a few days in which the influx of tourists increases, thus giving them the opportunity those who visit the Region and Cartagena to discover the Roman past of the city through one of its most emblematic buildings and whose recovery and enhancement has become an international example.
City tours
For this week of bridge, and in collaboration with Cartagena Port of Cultures, the Museum of the Roman Theater of Cartagena proposes different activities and routes for this bridge.
On Thursday 12 and Saturday 14 (11:30 hours) will take place the tour 'Carthago Nova Imperial', which will start at the Roman Theater and continue through the Roman Forum, giving participants the splendor of the Roman city where the theater was built, the temple dedicated to the goddess Isis and the god Serapis, as well as large thermal complexes decorated with paintings and mosaics and buildings of sacred banquets.
On Friday 13 and Sunday 15 (11:30 hours) will also take place the route 'Asclepios, 2000 years of a hill', which will begin in the panoramic elevator that elevates the visitor up hill of Asclepios, the highest point of the city that dominates the bay, crowned by the Medieval Castle and in whose hillside was constructed in times of Augustus the Roman Theater.
In that trip to the past you will visit the Castle, to continue on a descending route to the facade of the church, main identity elements of the medieval city and integrated in an itinerary of great historical and scenic value.
The visit will continue through the Theater Museum, where you will tour its exhibition halls to finish before the stage of the Roman Theater, and finally, the itinerary will reach the alley of Soledad, in the neighborhood of Fishermen, created in the eighteenth century.

The general price is 10 euros, 8 euros in the case of reduced entry and 5 for members of the Cartagena Club Puerto de Culturas.
Visit the museum
The visit to the Roman Theater and its museum lasts approximately one hour and can be done by free, since the museum has a significant amount of explanatory resources such as panels, videos, models and interactive, that allow the understanding of all parts and elements exposed.
In addition to the permanent collection, those who visit the Cartagena area these days will be able to enjoy the exhibition 'Heryca.
The trips of Sirvs', of the collective ArtNostrum, that pays homage to the history of the city.
The exhibition is a trip to the classical heritage in which numerous plastic artists from the Region of Murcia have participated as painters, sculptors, photographers and engravers.
The Roman Theater offers all its visitors an audio guide that can also be downloaded through the museum's website (http://www.teatroromanocartagena.org) and the EGODUCO platform, as an application on the mobile phone.
