The acting mayor and councilor of the area of ​​Decentralization, Juan Pedro Torralba, visited this Friday three districts of District 5 of the municipality in order to supervise the improvement works that are being carried out in the area.
Specifically, the regidor has been interested in the fishing district of Santa Lucia, Los Mateos and Lo Campano.
There he went to social venues to meet with the presidents of his three neighborhood associations, Lazaro Diaz, Francisco Garcia and Francisca Sastre respectively, who have transferred their concerns and the needs of each of these places.
The demands of the representatives of the neighbors have focused on issues of bump in the streets and lighting, as well as improvements in facades and public spaces and make the neighborhoods visible to give them life.
Juan Pedro Torralba has encouraged the neighbors of the three areas he has visited to participate in the Participatory Budgets for 2018, as he understands that it is the best way for the neighbors themselves to have the power to decide which actions are to be targeted the investments and thus be able to improve their environment with what they know that really is needed.
In Santa Lucía the asphalted works of the street Francisco Jorquera are already in contracting, as well as the integral reform of the bathroom of the social place.
In addition, the possibility of installing an air conditioner in the room is being studied.
In Los Mateos has been painted completely the social place, both inside and the facade, and the entrance has been arranged.
A new air conditioner has also been installed and the paving of the Bugle and Drum Band headquarters has been changed.
In the social premises of Lo Campano has changed the entire electrical installation with an investment of more than 15,000 euros and in the next few days will be placed an air conditioner that has already gone to recruit.
Also the facade will be painted and a concrete structure will be demolished that is located in the square that is in front of the social place and that is in a state of ruin.
Also will be studied to improve the illumination of the entrance of the neighborhood, one of the demands of the Association of Neighbors.
"Little by little we are doing things so that the neighborhoods have what they deserve", said the first mayor in office, who added that "this government does not look at quantity but necessity."
Torralba has calculated that the investment in these three neighborhoods, counting what has already been done and the remaining interventions to be performed, exceeds 60,000 euros.
