The Municipal Sociocultural Hall of Galifa hosts this Saturday, September 7, the first of the cycle of four concerts that the Carthagonova Polyphonic Choir will celebrate, as part of the events scheduled to mark the 40th anniversary of its founding.
The concert, which will begin at 21.00 hours, will be composed of a program of habaneras and songs of the sea directed by its director, Pedro Andrés García.
Thus, with this cycle of concerts, free entry to full capacity, coral reefs to one of the fundamental objectives of the association, such as promoting polyphonic choral music in Cartagena and its Shire.
It is 40 years since José Espinosa Pérez founded the Carthagonova Polyphonic Choir with students from the institutes of Cartagena who, with the subsequent incorporation of parents and teachers, was open to the entire educational community and is nowadays composed of singers from different backgrounds .
The training has not only acted in these 40 years in Cartagena or the Region of Murcia, but also in the rest of Spain and part of Europe.
She has been the promoter of choral music in the port city and is also the choirmaster of two of the most important choir shows in Cartagena, such as the Havana de Cabo de Palos concert, which already has 29 editions and is celebrated at the end of July, and the Choral Singing Show 'Maestro José Espinosa', with 21 editions already celebrated, during the month of November, coinciding with the feast of Santa Cecilia.
To these two samples must be added the fourth edition of the 'Concert Day of Hispanidad', which has been scheduled at the National Museum of Underwater Archeology (ARQVA) and will be held on 12 October at 12.00 p.m.
