This year's events include an extraordinary concert by the Music Unit of the General Air Academy and a charity dinner
The Minister of Transparency, Participation and Spokesperson, Noelia Arroyo, presented today the XI Cartagena Gala for Charity, which will take place on October 21 at the Auditorium and Congress Palace El Batel in Cartagena, and this year will feature an extraordinary concert of the Music Unit of the General Air Academy for the benefit of the House of Elders of the Little Sisters of the Poor and the Association for Assistance and Research of Personality Disorders in Cartagena, Comarca and Mar Menor.
"The regional government supports and helps the disadvantaged in our society, but also all those associations, groups or individuals who fight side by side with us to combat marginalization, poverty or mitigate the ravages of the disease," said Arroyo .
"The public power needs that generosity and dedication to do its work better, and as a complement to the protection we give to those who need it the most."
The donation tickets for the concert are priced from 5 to 10 euros and can now be purchased at Ticketmaster or at the ticket offices of El Batel or Teatro Circo.
All proceeds will go to the beneficiary institutions.
A charity dinner will also be held this November 11 to support the association for research on childhood cancer 'The Dream of Vicky', an act that will be named Honorary President of the counselor of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás, and also will be distinguished with the Gold Medal to the businessman and president of the Brotherhood of Lepanto, Tomás Martínez Pagán, as well as the companies El Corte Inglés and FCC Citizen Services, for the commitment which with this solidarity event have been providing for several years.
Likewise, the Awards for Charity 2017 will be given to the Volunteers with people with cancer and their families in the AECC, Volunteers of the Hope Group of the International Association of Charity San Vicente de Paul and the marriage formed by Gabriel Fernández Ruiz and Paqui Subiela Madrid.
More than 100,000 euros raised
The Charity Association Cartagena por la Caridad is a non-profit organization with the objective of organizing events of a cultural, sports, festive or social nature with which to help other associations or groups concerned with caring for people who are disadvantaged or in danger of exclusion social welfare, as well as direct aid to children with rare diseases.
Throughout the ten editions of this charity event, it has been possible to raise 117,911 euros in donations, which have been distributed between the Asylum of Elders of the Little Sisters of the Poor, Local Board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, Caritas Diocesanas of Cartagena, Social Dinner El Buen Samaritano, Hospitality Santa Teresa, Hope International Group of the San Vicente de Paul Association, Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases, Home of the Children of Cartagena, Alzheimer's Association of Cartagena and Comarca, Spanish Association Butterfly skin and children affected by different diseases.
