The first phase of the Palace of Sports of Cartagena, which hosts the auxiliary track, will open its doors for use by sports clubs in the city this Monday, October 2, as announced by Councilor for Sports, Ricardo Segado.
It is a polyvalent use track with a treadmill for about 300 people, which can be used for both training and matches of various sports clubs in the city.
The acting mayor, Juan Pedro Torralba, has been very pleased that at last it can be given free access to the use of these facilities and that the city of Cartagena can begin to enjoy the facilities.
"It has been a long time and a millionaire work in charge of the municipal coffers, and therefore of all Cartagena, and logically it is the responsibility of this Government to give it usefulness as soon as possible," said Torralba, who also wanted "more soon that afternoon "you can have the Palacio de los Deportes at full capacity and that the people of Cartagena can enjoy it.
The Councilor for Sports, Ricardo Segado, has wished that with the opening of the first phase can meet the needs and requests made by the citizens of Cartagena and "that is an impetus to be able to open soon the other phases and that is to full performance".
The second phase will be the central track, which is also close to solving that final solution to put a fixed parquet suitable for sports and the third phase will be the opening of the pool, something in which is working from the Department of Development Sustainable and Sports.

Also as a presentation of the opening of this first phase, the Sports Palace will host the derby of the Region between Plásticos Romero and Pozo Murcia on October 7 in the central court of the Sports Palace, which will be televised at through Teledeporte.
The match can be celebrated thanks to the installation by the National League of Futsal of the track that is used in the televising retransmissions.
At the moment the central track has an uneven floor, on which that track should be installed.

On the other hand, regarding the final installation of the hearth and the parquet in that track, from the Town Hall are pending to receive reports of studies that have been made on these elements, which are not suitable for sports.
Once received, the pertinent measures will be taken, either the request to the UTE to pay for the installation of these elements or the realization through a subsidiary execution.
Mowed has ensured that in any case from the City Council has always been said that "this Palace can not cost more money to Cartagena," therefore it will try by all means through the legal services that the installation runs to charge of the UTE.
