The Councilors of Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padin, Ana Rama and Alfredo Nieto attended today the meeting of the General Meeting of Shareholders where the annual accounts corresponding to the year 2016, of the Sociedad Municipal Casco Antiguo de Cartagena, with the favorable vote of the councilors of PSOE, MC, and Citizens and the vote against CTSSP-We and PP.
The approval of these accounts will enable the City Council to convene shortly the Special Accounts Commission for the approval of the General Account of the City corresponding to the year 2016.
Regarding the vote against the PP, the orange formation spokesman, Manuel Padín, expressed his surprise, "because for 20 years, the management of this company generated an unsustainable debt and said nothing, and now that his health financial situation begins to stabilize the question and vote against the annual accounts. "
"We waited until the last moment to approve the accounts because it is the time we have needed to analyze in detail the Intervention report and the Audit report, which must be remembered that it does not put any objection to the accounts, although there are some qualifications that have to do with the purchase of the San Miguel Building and some accounting nuances, but it says verbatim that "the annual accounts express, in all material respects, a true and fair view of the company's financial situation and its financial situation", explained the spokesperson for orange formation.
Manuel Padín says that after a multitude of conversations with the company's manager, Antonio García, with public company workers, Intervention and the rest of political groups, "we have concluded that, at the moment, they are a lot more benefits than the damages that this company can report to Cartagena society, and that well managed is a powerful and useful tool for municipal urban management, and therefore we bet for its continuity.
The spokesman of Cs insists that it seems strange the interest of some to slam the door of a company whose management for 20 years is being investigated in a Commission that we support, and that has several projects under way, such as its participation in the European project MAPS, the urbanization project for a new area of ​​pedestrian use in the eastern end of Monte Sacro where the Campus of Archeology has also been organized, the transmission to the City Council of houses in the neighborhoods of Lo Campano and Santa Lucía for social purposes, and the works of adaptation of the University District, among others.
