Families with people with Down syndrome and intellectual disability of ASIDO Cartagena invite all Cartagena and Cartagena to accompany them in the festival 'El Grito de Asido', with which they want to make themselves known to their neighbors and raise funds to continue working for the integration.
This event celebrates this year its fifth edition with the concert to be held on Saturday, October 7 at 10:00 pm in the Torres Park.
The Councilor for Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón, the delegate councilor for Social Services and Social Mediation, Carmen Martín del Amor, and the president of the association, Juan Pedro Sánchez, presented this Wednesday this initiative whose collaborating groups will be on this occasion Nena Rose, Peak Corner and Ngoma Africa.
All will act unselfishly to support this non-profit association.
PROJECT OF EDUCATIONAL INCLUSION
The benefits to be gained from the sale of tickets and the collection of bars will go entirely to the professional supports that facilitate the inclusion of girls and boys with Down syndrome and intellectual disability with the rest of their classmates in schools region.
This project consists of the reinforcement provided by the teachers and monitors of the association offering school support in the classrooms of the schools.
It is the entity itself that defrays the expenses of this aid.
Francisco Calderón thanked "the excellent work" and "the effort so great" that supposes for the staff of the association its commitment to inclusion.
"You can count on us for whatever you want and for what you need," he commented to the members of ASIDO, making clear the support of the Councilor delegate of Social Services and his own, through the Area of ​​Quality of Life, since the City of Cartagena.
Likewise, the mayor has criticized that the Consistory is bearing 70% of the costs in matters of Social Affairs.
"We are covering some gaps that would have to cover the administration and that the administration does not cover," he has denounced.
Carmen Martín del Amor wanted to remember "how important it is for this City Council to remove the barriers and open the doors to opportunities for all people with disabilities."
"Diversity is good because it makes us unique and makes us grow as a society, so we must fight for equality. We all have a commitment, and it is to build an inclusive society for all," said the mayor of Social Services and Social Mediation .
The Councilor pointed out that the objective of this solidarity concert is the same as last year: to focus on visualizing the need for educational inclusion of children with Down Syndrome in schools.
"The act that unites us today makes us grow as a society," he added.
The president of Asido Cartagena, Juan Pedro Sánchez, for his part, stressed that "educational inclusion ensures that children with and without disabilities learn and live in the same classrooms of ordinary centers and prepares them to build a more inclusive society in the future ".
This project of educational inclusion that is carried out from ASIDO, has explained, is an initiative to make visible the capacities of people with disabilities and their right to education on equal opportunities.
Sánchez has been congratulated that the participation in the event goes every year for more.
"We are sure that this year will also grow thanks to the support of the Cartageneros and also for the quality of the groups," he assured.
TICKETS ALREADY FOR SALE FOR 6 EUROS
The families and professionals of Asido Cartagena have been preparing this music festival for five years with much effort and enthusiasm but, above all, with the collaboration of companies and institutions such as the City of Cartagena, which cedes the use of the Parque Torres auditorium.
For their part, the local groups also collaborate making possible a varied and quality poster.
This year includes the best Pop Rock with the versions of Nena Rose, the classic Rock & Roll with Pico Esquina and the African rhythms of Ngoma Africa.
Although the concert will start at 10:00 pm, the auditorium and bars will open half an hour earlier.
Tickets are now on sale at a price of 6 euros and include a drink.

A FOURTH CENTURY HELPING PEOPLE WITH DOWN SYNDROME
ASIDO Cartagena is a non-profit organization that in 2018 will turn 25, since it was born in 1993, and since then offers services of Early Care, Occupational Center, Day Center, Employment Service, Support Service for Families, Psychopedagogical Support and School, as well as Leisure and Leisure programs.
In addition, he composes, along with 25 other entities, Full Inclusion Region of Murcia, the federation of associations of families of people with intellectual disabilities.
Full inclusion Region of Murcia is the result of the union of more than 3,000 families working together for the well-being of people with intellectual disabilities, forming a total of 26 entities.
In all Spain, Full inclusion is formed by 891 entities distributed by the national territory.
It represents more than 106,700 people with intellectual disabilities, 235,000 relatives, 24,000 professionals and 8,000 volunteers.
