The Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center hosted the first general assembly of Participatory Budgets for this 2017-2018 exercise on Tuesday afternoon, September 26, in which representatives of all citizen groups registered in the Association Register participated.
Those in charge of presenting the details of this edition of Participatory Budgets were the acting mayor and councilor of Decentralization, Juan Pedro Torralba;
the mayor of Hacienda and Interior, Francisco Aznar;
the councilor of Finance and Contracting, Isabel García;
the mayor of Finance and Sustainable Development, María José Soler, and the Coordinator of Participation, Rosa Muñoz.
At the same time, the councilors of Social Services and Tourism, Carmen Martín and Obdulia Gómez, were also present among the public, respectively.
These assemblies distributed in the seven districts of the municipality of Cartagena are one of the main novelties of this edition.
Thus, until November 11, four assemblies will be held in district 1, three in district 2, two in district 3, four in district 4, two in district 5, two in district 6 and four in the 7th arrondissement.
Another improvement that has been made for this edition is that projects will be implemented in each and every one of the districts, which is why the number of assemblies has been expanded, so that all citizens know the operation of the Participatory Budgets, how they can make their proposals and vote for projects that they consider most interesting or necessary for their area.
In addition, it has been decided to hold these assemblies both in councils that have municipal offices (OMITAS), and in neighborhoods that lack them to reach the largest possible number of people.
