One of the first promises of the government of MC and PSOE at the beginning of the legislature was that the Rubio House of El Algar was to be restored.
However, more than two years later, this emblematic property remains in a ruinous state inside.
In September 2015, the head of the Department of Decentralization, Juan Pedro Torralba, said that his department was preparing a project with which to opt for funds from the regional administration and the European Union;
a year later in September 2016 Torralba announced that he would allocate 30,000 euros to start remodeling the Casa Rubio and then said that the budgetary problems suffered by the City had not allowed him to start working with the speed that would have liked, "but once we have a game, we have dedicated it to these works," he said.
The Municipal Group of Citizens today showed their surprise at these commitments adopted by the Government of Cartagena, as it is not known that nothing has been invested to rehabilitate the property.
In addition, a few days ago, through the newspaper La Opinión, the councilman of Decentralization justified his inaction explaining that he was pending to sign an agreement with the UPCT to culminate a study that was made in 2004 on 'Structural Safety and Rehabilitation Proposals'.
In the face of so much contradictory information and the systematic failure to comply with the commitments of the Government of Cartagena with respect to Casa Rubio, the Municipal Group of Citizens will ask at the next plenary session why nothing has been invested in the rehabilitation of Casa Rubio despite of the promises launched at the beginning of the legislature, and despite this committed € 30,000 game of which nothing is known.
The Orange Training also wants to know what the agreement between the UPCT and the Government of Cartagena is, in what state the negotiations are, and what European or regional investment plan the government has designed.
