A total of 19 drivers and 33 passengers were sanctioned at the end of the special traffic campaign of control of safety belts and child restraint systems (SRI) carried out by the Local Police of Cartagena in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic between 11 and on 17 September.
In this period, the forces controlled 470 vehicles during this preventive campaign, which coincided with the beginning of the school year and which aimed to make both drivers and passengers aware that the seat belt is a basic and fundamental element of road safety which halves the risk of death in the event of an accident.
Local Police agents in Cartagena have controlled cars, taxis, buses and freight vehicles using seat belts and child restraint systems correctly.
This campaign has paid special attention to the districts and councils of the municipality.
