The Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) celebrated on Monday its traditional welcome to international students, most notably this year the Italians, the nationality of more than fifty students who chose to do an Erasmus in Cartagena this semester.
The number of Italian students has doubled over the previous year, an example of which the sociocultural and academic charms of Cartagena and its Polytechnic University have captivated transalpine youths, who for a few years have been crowded at UPCT thanks to a Campus agreement Mare Nostrum and an Italian body that grants to students of masters.
The mouth-ear of their experiences seems to have motivated that this year the Italians are also majority among the Erasmus.
After the Italians, the French (29), the Polish (23) and the Romanian (16) are the most numerous nationalities among the students who arrive this month to the Polytechnic through the European mobility program.
Together, 177 Erasmus will study at the UPCT this quarter, to which 27 Ibero-American students, including 23 Mexicans and 10 Indians, will attend an MBA in English at the Faculty of Business Sciences .
In total, the Polytechnic receives this quarter to 214 international students, 16% more than last year, which has already increased significantly, a symptom that the UPCT and Cartagena are increasingly open to the outside.
