The Councilor for Youth of Cartagena, Ricardo Segado, received on Thursday, September 14, the two young people who have just returned to Cartagena after spending a year in France and Germany developing a European Voluntary Service project, Mª Ángeles and Elena.
In turn, he fired and wished Joaquín and Oriali, who in the coming weeks will travel to Austria and Latvia to stay a year as European volunteers.
Oriali is a social worker with a degree in criminology who will spend a year doing a European volunteer project (SVE) in Telfs, Austria.
There, he will collaborate in the activities that take place in Marktgemeinde, a youth center where young people go to spend their free time.
On the other hand, Joaquin, 19, has decided to do an EVS experience after finishing High School.
Before continuing his studies, he wants to live in another country and Preili, a Latvian village, is his destination, where he will carry out his project at the Keen in Diversity children's center where he will support educational and leisure activities.
The Mobility Space of the Young Space of the Youth Council is accredited to send and host young European volunteers, where its technicians inform and advise all those interested in a training experience in another country in the field of non-formal education.
The European Voluntary Service is part of the Erasmus + Youth Program in Action (2014-2020). It is a learning experience in the field of non-formal education in which young volunteers improve or acquire skills for their personal development, social and professional.
It also supports the transnational voluntary work of youth.
Its aim is to develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, primarily to strengthen social cohesion in the European Union.
