The Cyclothurist March of Carthaginians and Romans arrives this year to its twenty-seventh edition with a journey of 101 kilometers by the Campo de Cartagena that will pass through Molinos Marfagones, Cuesta Blanca, Los Puertos, Perín, Cross of the Azohía, Isla Plana, Mazarón, Las Palas, Canteras and will cross four mountain passes, Cedacero for its two slopes, Algarrobo and La Cuesta.
This has been announced this Friday, September 15, the coordinator of sports activities, Eduardo Armada, in a press conference in which also participated the president of the Club Ciclista Cartagena, Diego Sánchez, and the club secretary, Francisco Díez.
During the presentation, Armada recalled that the exit and goal will be the usual point of this test, the festive camp next to the Stadium Cartagonova.
The test will be Sunday, September 24, the last day of the holidays, and will begin at 9.00.
"Five hours pedaling like every last Sunday in September," said the coordinator of sports activities, who thanked the Club Ciclista Cartagena "the constancy and commitment to this event maintains the success that characterizes it," with which different collaborations sponsors and the municipalities of Cartagena, Mazarrón and Fuente Alamo so that the test can be carried out each year.
For his part, Francisco Díez recalled that the deadline for entries to participate in this march closes on September 20 and has encouraged all interested to register and participate, while showing appreciation to the councils of Sports, Tourism and Citizen Security for their work in the organization and development of the test.
The cyclist, as recalled by the secretary of the club, consists of four mountain passes "with a respectable difficulty" and passes, in addition, for places "very beautiful, worthy to contemplate and make the test more bearable."
Finally, Diego Sanchez has announced that the Cyclist Club he runs will organize this Sunday, September 17, a cadet race in which teams from throughout the Region of Murcia and other neighboring areas will participate.
It will consist of an urban circuit in Alameda San Antón, where young athletes will have to travel 25 rounds to the circuit, in which route will establish a series of trophies for the first classified, flying goals and the best team.
The circuit totals 50 kilometers, Sanchez explained.
The test will begin at 9:00 am and, at the end of the day, the sports schools will begin, in the first and second year categories of promises, beginners, juveniles and second year children.
