"Violence against women is the highest expression of inequity and inequality.
It is based on the abuse of power of one person over another (men over women) and its consequences are considered a violation of human rights, "has begun the Council of Equality of the City of Cartagena, David Martinez, the presentation of the campaign which the City Council in collaboration with various groups, athletes, musicians and artists, has launched against the macho violence in the Festivals of Carthaginians and Romans.
According to Martínez, the forms and manifestations of violence against women are many and for this reason, we want to open a new line of prevention and social awareness through social networks, to stop blaming women and start to socially judge the aggressors.
For this the celebration of the feasts of Carthaginians and Romans will be used.
In them will be claimed "A fun without aggression" through two videos that directly affect sexual harassment.
Martinez has explained that at parties, women, especially young women, endure humiliation, persecution or verbal aggression of groups of men, especially when they are alone.
"With the videos we try to get closer to the men and women who come to the parties that live on the streets, and we ask them to reflect on the importance of assuming as a community that sexual assaults have no place in our society."
The councilman has assured that many people are already involved in this task and have collaborated unselfishly in the realization of the two videos that have already begun to spread in social networks;
like the athletes of esthetic gymnastics next to its trainer Celia Armada;
Minerva Féminas, one of our most important women's football clubs and coach Fulgencio Andreu;
actresses and actors such as Jennifer Álvarez, Faustino Sáez and others as well known as Daniel Albaladejo;
of the world of the music like the group Ayoho and Toni Aguilar DJ and presenter of the 40 main ones;
and the boys and girls of the program "Youtubers for equality".
Martínez thanked them for their collaboration, as well as the festivities of Carthaginians and Romans who have supported the initiative from the beginning and the team of the producer Vdreams.
The Council of Equality has also highlighted the excellent work that the professionals of the Center for Attention to Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI), located in the Department of Equality, building the Milagrosa 2 plant, develop, as well as the work that during the women of "The 8th of March Feminist Platform", together with other younger groups "Paro Internacional 8M" and the "Colectivo Carmen Conde", are actively involved in the fight against gender-based violence in the city. the festive camp
