The Cartagena de la Diputación de Molinos Marfagones is already prepared to celebrate this Saturday, September 16, its VII Cross Duathlon "Memorial Andrés Bermejo", organized by the Sports Club La Soledad in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena and the Federation of Triathlon of the Region of Murcia.
A test that will involve some 250 athletes from all over the Region and who presented this Thursday, September 14, Councilor for Sports, Ricardo Segado, and race directors, Juan José Alcaraz and José María Navarro.
The mayor of Sports has shown his pride for the celebration, once again, of this test that has qualified as "a classic September" and is included in the regional circuit duathlon cross.
Thus, Segado assured, the participants will be able to enjoy during the race of "a beautiful tour of the natural surroundings of Cartagena West and the deputation of Molinos Marfagones" and has emphasized that it constitutes "one of the iconological events of the sport and tourist image of our West Cartagena and of the whole municipality ".
The tests will start next to the CEIP Azorín, of Molinos Marfagones.
The competitive day will begin at 4.30 pm with the departure of the categories prebenjamines and benjamines, non-competitive;
and will continue the exit of fry at 17.00;
of junior at 17.30, and at 18:30 is scheduled to start the absolute race.
Meanwhile, José María Navarro has highlighted the consolidation of the test, especially the categories of minors, which has about 70 entries from clubs throughout the Region this year.
In addition, about 190 adults will cross the line on Saturday.
In addition, he has been proud of the work done by the team of 60 volunteers that makes possible the organization of the test.
Finally, Juan José Alcaraz has explained the most technical data of the test, which will feature in this edition with judges of the Triathlon Federation of the Region of Murcia.
It deals with its seven editions of the oldest race of the Autonomous Community of this modality, in which the participants make first a race on foot, followed by a section of cycling along the trails and rambla of the west of the municipality to finish with another race on foot, after returning to the pits that will be installed in the facilities of the CEIP Azorín to leave their bicycles.
Thus, the test prebenjamín and Benjamin, which will not be competitive, will consist of a course of 500 meters of race, 1,500 meters by bicycle and 250 meters of race.
Next will be disputed the test of fry category, of 1,000 meters of race, 4 kilometers of bicycle and 500 meters;
and the test for athletes of infant and cadet categories will be 2,000 meters, 8 kilometers and 1,000 meters.
The route for the absolute test is of 5,000 meters of race, 19 kilometers in bicycle and 2,250 meters of race.
The timing will be done through electronic chip.
As for the inscriptions, recalled Alcaraz, the deadline closed on 11 September, with about 250 registered.
The prices were 12 euros for adults, federated and non-federated, and 6 euros for children's categories.
Registration includes back, insurance and a broker bag with technical t-shirt and gifts from sponsors.
