This morning, a new meeting of the Commission for Monitoring Participatory Budgets took place in the administrative building of San Miguel, with the presence of the Councilor for Finance and promoter of this initiative, Isabel García (MC).
Representing the municipal group MC has also attended the edil Francisco Calderón.
Later, Isabel Garcia said that "the proposals of the political groups have been collected, some will be incorporated into this year's process and others will do so next year, for the 2019 Budget."
García added that "to the Technical Committee of Valuation will be added in addition to the municipal technicians, representatives of the political groups," adding that "this technical table will be added María José Soler, new Councilor for Sustainable Development, who will coordinate the process ".
The proposals for this new edition of the Participatory Budgets will be evaluated by a Technical Evaluation Committee, which will be coordinated by the new Councilor for Sustainable Development, María José Soler, who will be named in his new responsibilities in the coming dates.
The Technical Commission will evaluate the proposals from 13 to 30 November to confirm that they are valid and viable, in addition to making the budget of the economic cost thereof.
Those proposals whose cost exceeds the budget provided for the participatory budgets of the District, do not fall within the competence of the City Council or are contrary to the regulations of application or technically unviable will be excluded.
In any case, the evaluation of at least one proposal per district will be guaranteed.
At the end of the period, all proposals, both approved and rejected, will be published with their corresponding reports and evaluations.
Participative Budgets
Last year the pilot experience of the first Participatory Budgets of the City of Cartagena began.
It is a proposal formulated by Isabel García from its field of competence to provide, for the first time in our municipality, visibility to the opinion of the neighbors, recognizing them as authorized voices in the decision making regarding the definition of priorities.
Finally, the Cartageneros marked the priorities to allocate the 1,677,535 euros included in the heading for the Participatory Budgets, within the framework of the General Budget of 2017.
They determined that the improvement of lighting in La Palma was undertaken;
the construction of two artificial grass soccer fields in La Aljorra, El Albujón and La Palma;
as well as works in the Castle of La Atalaya;
in Santa Ana Pueblo, with a bike lane and pedestrian access from the Residencial Santa Ana;
arrangement and definitive consolidation of the Casillas Hill of El Portús;
rearrangement of road traffic and pedestrian accesses C / General Moscardó with C / Capitán Haya and C / Capitán Cortés de El Albujón, and the construction of steel from C / Santa Ana with the San Cristóbal-El Molino de Casablanca neighborhood.
