Fire Rescue and Rescue Services Fire Rescue Service (SEIS) of the Cartagena City Council rescued this afternoon a mother and her young son who had been trapped inside a vehicle, after colliding head-on against another on the N-345, on the La Esperanza road in the direction of Portman, in the municipality of La Unión.
Five people were injured in the accident.
The crash was recorded at 5:25 p.m.
Several calls alerted the Emergency Coordination Center 1-1-2 Region of Murcia of the incident and that in one of the vehicles were two people trapped.
At the scene of the accident were members of the Local Police and Fire Brigade of the City of Cartagena, as well as a Mobile Emergency Unit, an ambulance of the Emergency Service of La Union and a concerted ambulance.
The firefighters deprived the mother of a mechanical entrapment;
while the child, who had injuries caused by the seat belt, was treated by the medical services of the EMU.
The wounded were two women of 23 and 16 years and a male of 23, who were traveling in the first vehicle;
and 33-year-old mother and her five-year-old son, who went on the other tour.
The five were transported by ambulances to the General University Hospital of Santa Lucía.
