Patios Abiertos in Cartagena

The Plenum of the City Council today unanimously approved the proposal of the orange training, to develop a pilot experience in Cartagena linked to the program 'Patios Abiertos'.

The Cs initiative proposes the study of the progressive opening of the courtyards, multipurpose spaces and sports courts of public schools outside the school hours.

The 'Patios Abiertos' program has already been launched with very good results in other cities such as Barcelona, ​​Albacete, Sagunto, Getafe or Barakaldo, and is being prepared in others such as Valencia.

The spokesman for the orange formation in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, celebrated the decision of the Plenary and explained that "it is obvious that there are free spaces in the city, in the neighborhoods and councils, for the performance of sports activities or for actions and neighborhood outdoor events when school playgrounds are underutilized beyond school hours, on weekends and during vacation periods. "

Comprehensive system for monitoring cases of gender violence

Ciudadanos has also obtained, with the unanimous support of the Plenary, that the City Council initiate the procedures so that the Local Police of Cartagena joins the System of Integral Monitoring in Cases of Gender Violence (VioGen System), a plan in force since 2007 that consists of an updated computer network that allows to consult any information regarding cases of domestic violence and the current situation of victim and aggressor.

At the local level, only three of the forty-five municipalities of the Region, Águilas, Santomera and Alhama de Murcia, had so far applied for enrollment in this system.

"We can not afford to do without any tool to fight against gender violence, and it should be a priority on the political agenda to work with whatever means we have at our disposal to end this scourge," said the spokesperson of Citizens in Cartagena.

Solidarity City with Alzheimer's

Cartagena has declared itself today, thanks to Citizens, Solidarity City with Alzheimer's.

With this institutional gesture, the orange training aims to encourage the City Council to further promote awareness and awareness of this socio-sanitary problem of the first magnitude between society and public institutions.

The orange formation has managed to organize, within the Municipal School Council, a work table where the teachers, the AMPAS of the city's schools, the Ministry of Education, political groups and experts in the field are represented. on this problem and to meet at least once every three months.

In addition, the Government of Cartagena will strengthen annual campaigns to raise awareness about the importance of curbing bullying and organizing activities aimed at teachers, families and students to facilitate the detection of this form of abuse in all its forms.

On the other hand, the Department of Education has committed to control the effective placement of specific mailboxes that the Ministry announced that they were to be installed in schools to detect and prevent cases of bullying.

The Council of Citizens, Ana Rama, today brought to the plenary session a battery of questions to know if the Government team has fulfilled its word and has increased, or has planned to do so, the number of public drinking water sources in the new municipal infrastructures.

The mayor has also been interested in knowing if the committed plan of measures and analysis of the totality of the sources has been carried out and if you have already prepared a maintenance program for the renovation of these elements.

Although the Government of Cartagena has had enough time to answer these questions, MC Councilor Francisco Calderón has not answered any of them, although he has assured that he will do so in writing.

Municipal Wifi

Citizens have recalled today that it was in September 2015, almost two years ago, when the Plenum of the City of Cartagena unanimously approved to launch as soon as possible a complete study of technical feasibility and financial costs for the implementation of a municipal Wi-Fi network , which would allow different areas and areas of the city to be covered in different phases, with the aim of achieving universal access to access.

The Council of Cs has asked when this municipal wifi network will be available in public spaces but the Government, through the councilman of Francisco Aznar, has responded that, after two years of delay, it is "impossible for the Government" to be able to give a date .

Cemetery of Saint Lucia

Cs Cartagena has once again demanded that the main funerary architectural monuments of the Cemetery of Our Lady of the Remedies in Saint Lucia be restored, measures of protection against the plundering that suffers and the adhesion of this cemetery to the European Route of the Cemeteries.

The mayor Ana Rama has asked if, as required by a plenary agreement of October 2015, the City Council has completed the procedures for the inclusion of the Santa Lucia Cemetery in the European network, and the recognition of the Association of Significant Cemeteries.

The councilman of Patrimonio Ricardo Segado has ensured, despite the time elapsed, that these procedures continue their course, and that the City has been immersed in an ambitious action plan to restore the patrimonial elements of this cemetery.

Security against robberies

Citizen spokesman Manuel Padín has asked whether the local government has urged the competent authorities to increase the number of Guardia Civil personnel to Cartagena by means of an official channel. oral or written form by the delegate of the Government regarding the request to increase the number of Guardia Civil in Cartagena.

It also wanted to know what actions, within the framework of its powers, raised by the local government to increase security in localities that have suffered numerous episodes of robbery, many of them not reported for fear of possible reprisals.

The councilman responsible for the area of ​​Citizen Security, Francisco Aznar, has ensured that a considerable effort is being made in the area, although they have recognized that during the summer months the number of police forces decreases considerably.

On the other hand, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has pointed out that since this is a delicate matter, they have not received any written communication from the Government Delegation that it has in its agenda an increase in the number of agents.

Social Network Regulation

Cs Cartagena has also asked, through a question asked by the councilor, Ana Rama, to regulate by means of a regulation the social networks of the Municipal Neighborhood Boards.
