The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, who met this morning in Murcia with the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martinez Cachá, has been satisfied by the results obtained, as the opening has been confirmed with complete normality of the school San Ginés de la Jara in El Llano del Beal, even before the date initially announced, and the unlocking of the construction of the new educational center of La Aljorra, on land ceded by the City of Cartagena.
The meeting was also attended by Councilor for Education, David Martinez;
the director general of Educational Centers, María Remedios Lajara;
municipal technicians and the Autonomous Community;
and members of the educational community of El Llano.
Both the mayor and the counselor have confirmed the good progress of the work undertaken by both administrations and according to the Environment report ensure the safety of schoolchildren.
Specifically by the City Council has undertaken the diversion of rainstorms that could carry traces of heavy metals and have replaced the windows to ensure their closure.
The counselor has assured that on the part of the Ministry of Education, in two weeks the paving of the school yard will be finished, so that the parents can be sure that their children are not at risk.
In view of all this, both the mayor and the counselor have announced that the children of El Llano can start their classes next Friday, September 8, like the rest of school children of the municipality, thus advancing the date given in principle of this week that indicated like date of beginning in the Llano the Monday 11 of September.
Ana Belén Castejón has described as "gratifying" that both the educational community and parents have been able to perceive that when "two administrations are of the political sign that they are able to agree and go hand in hand, you can achieve the objectives proposed on time ".
NEW SCHOOL IN LA ALJORRA
Prior to the meeting in El Llano, the mayor and the councilor of Education have held a meeting with the director general of Educational Centers, which has announced the unlocking of construction a new center in La Aljorra.
The director general explained that the entire file was already in order and that the works could be put out to bid on the land ceded at the time by the City of Cartagena.
The mayor has been satisfied by the unlocking of this matter that constitutes an old vindication of the parents and the Aljorra and has assured that soon after arriving at Cartagena would give the pertinent order so that the work is tendered as soon as possible.
