The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, attended yesterday to the extraordinary plenary of the Neighborhood Council of La Palma, where she explained to the neighbors her desire to visit all the neighborhood meetings, "from the utmost respect for her independence", to know firsthand The needs and requests of the neighbors.
"I believe in citizen participation and neighborhood councils are a fundamental organ that I respect and support. You develop a very important work that we try to promote from the City Council," said Castejón.
The mayor took good note of all the petitions, responded to the questions raised by the members of the board and pledged to return to explain their management.
He also explained the evolution of participatory budgets and the regulation of citizen participation.
"We believe in participation. It is the time of dialogue and consensus and, for this reason, we are trying to ensure that both the rules and budgets are as participatory as possible," he said.
The meeting also counted on the presence of the Councilor for Decentralization, Juan Pedro Torralba, and the delegated councilor for Equality, David Martínez.
