The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, met this morning with the president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Miras, to discuss fundamental issues for Cartagena, such as the unlocking of the Master Plan of the Roman Amphitheater and the launch of a new Neighborhood Plan for 2018.
Castejón has expressed his satisfaction for the recovery of the Plan of Barrios and has recalled that our municipality assumes more than 14 million euros in improper competitions and can not confront alone the works that the towns need to continue growing and developing.
Regarding the Master Plan of the Amphitheater, the mayor has assured that she has the commitment of the president that the Community will grant a grant of 100,000 euros to start up.
Castejón has offered to Lopez Miras to make a common front so that the financing of the Town halls is increased, since they are the administration closest to the citizen, the one that receives less funds and the one that more improper competitions assumes.
The mayor has demanded the CARM president to request the Ministry of Development to accelerate the arrival of the AVE to Cartagena, for which there are no budgets or deadlines, as well as streamlining the works of the Mediterranean Corridor and the ZAL.
In this sense, the mayor has been willing to make a common front with Andalusia and the Valencian Community to fight for the Mediterranean Corridor.
With respect to the suppression of the level crossings, of Pozo Estrecho, La Palma, Los Mateos and Vistalegre, the president, as previously did the Secretary of State for Infrastructure in the Senate, has assured the mayor that will be progressively .

To do so, they will sit down again to define the deadlines for this objective to become a reality.
On the other hand Castejón reminded Lopez Miras that Cartagena has one of the most important ports in Spain in freight traffic and the fourth in terms of benefits, as well as the main industrial pole of the Region.
Both need to improve communications immediately with the rest of the country and with Europe.
The mayor has not forgotten the Tourism and has requested more regional aid for promotion, as well as new investments.
Among the topics covered has also been agriculture and the decree of measures against drought in which the judgment of the mayor has to continue working and listening to all agrarian associations, regardless of political colors.

Last but not least, according to Castejón, the mayor has asked the president to take advantage of the reform of the Statute of Autonomy to continue promoting a "healthy debate" and continue to advance in the development of the region and in the special singularity of the municipality Of Cartagena, just as it did at the time with the President of the Regional Assembly.
