Antonio Guillamón criticizes that the Ministry of Health continue with its policy of cuts, and demands the application of measures that address the serious consequences of poor care that is deteriorating a public health system "which became a model of health efficiency and well-being for the population"
Socialist regional deputy Antonio Guillamón has denounced, "once again", the situation of precarious health that exists in the municipality of Cartagena in relation to primary care, a situation that increases in the summer months and produces a huge discomfort In the users.
According to Guillamón, the Ministry of Health continues with its policy of cuts, since during the summer keeps the health centers closed and does not cover the gaps generated by holidays of doctors, casualties or days of free disposal.
"This produces an overload of work by primary care physicians that impacts on their working day or on the time of patient care," he said.
In his view, this is not a single isolated circumstance of one or more centers, but is a widespread situation that has lasted for years.
"The delay in appointments to receive medical assistance obliges patients to go to the emergency room of Santa Lucia Hospital, contributing to increase the pressure of care that already suffers this center," he explained.
"Socialists believe that the health of people should not be affected by any kind of cutback. The health policy of the regional government of the Popular Party only serves to produce negative effects on users and to increase waiting lists and referrals to the Private health, "he added.
Guillamón has defended that the citizens deserve a dignified health care, reason why "it is necessary an adequate planning of the primary attention in the municipality of Cartagena that, once and for all, finishes with the current precariousness care.
"We demand that health officials implement measures that address the serious consequences of poor care that is deteriorating a public health system that became a model of health efficiency and wellbeing for the population," he concluded.
