The Delegation of Alumbres celebrated yesterday its great day in honor to its patron, San Roque, that served as a colophon to its patron saint festivities.
At 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. in the morning the flowered targets sounded to wake the city on such a marked date.
In the afternoon, the solemn Mass was celebrated in honor of the patron, who attended the Council of Festejos and Second Lieutenant of Mayor, Juan Pedro Torralba, the third deputy mayor, Francisco Calderón, and the Citizens' spokesman, Manuel Padín.
The mayor of La Unión, Pedro López, was also present at the events.
After the Eucharist, the images of the Assumption of Our Lady, leading the procession, and of San Roque, left the streets of Alumbres, after which many neighbors and visitors marched to the celebration.
The Musical Group 'Cartagena' and the Band of Horns and Drums 'San Roque' Alumbres put music to the route that ended again in the church of San Roque and at dusk.
The procession culminated with the encounter of the Virgin and San Roque in front of the church door amid the applause of the crowd that gathered to witness the event.
After the religious celebration the alumbreños and the alumbreñas were able to enjoy the dance and the music in the last evening of the celebrations that finished with a castle of fireworks at 2:00 hours of the dawn.
