Neighbors and vacationers from Cabo de Palos crowded the church of the Virgin of the Sea to pay homage to the Virgin on the day of the Assumption.
After the mass, which was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, the third deputy mayor, Francisco José Calderón, the councilman of finance, Isabel Garcia, the Councilor for Tourism, Obdulia Gomez and the members of the corporation Municipal, Francisco Jose Espejo, Carolina Palazón, Álvaro Valdés and Manuel Padín;
The attendants and many who waited at the door, accompanied the image of the Virgin of Carmen to the port of Cabo de Palos.
The procession was led by women in the traditional costume of fishermen and the banner of the Virgin in front.
The band of Drums and Cornets of Fuente Cubas put music to the route, during which the conchs also sounded.
Upon arrival at the port, the image embarked on the 'Consuelo Llorca' to cross the bay, where a wreath was thrown in memory of the deceased sailors.
The sea procession was accompanied by several private boats and fishermen.
Upon his return to the church, the Salve to the Virgin was sung before his reentry to the temple.
