Martinez-Cachá thanked and stressed the collaboration of the City of Cartagena, all the councils involved and the educational community to carry out "an immediate and coordinated action."

Improvement and safety actions
After the first studies issued by the Environment and pending the final analysis, which could lead to the need for other actions, both the Ministry and the City Council will carry out various works to guarantee the safety and health of students and faculty.
Education will carry out the closing of the gaps in the walls of the fence, to avoid the currents of rainwater, as well as the sealing of carpentry in doors and windows and will carry out the study of the possible foundation of the football field of Earth.
For its part, the council will carry out the paving of the children's playground, a dust screen on a sports court or the renewal of rainwater coming from the public road to avoid its passage through the grounds of the center.

CEIP 'San Ginés de la Jara', two different pavilions
The school 'San Ginés de la Jara', in the Llano del Beal (Cartagena), has two pavilions, 'El Llano' and 'El Estrecho', located in different neighborhoods and separated by 600 meters.
The whole school has 227 students distributed in 15 units, of which 'El Llano' has 127 students in eight units and the 'El Estrecho' pavilion has 91.
Martinez-Cachá explained that "given the provisional information, advanced by the Environment technicians, and waiting for the final results of the studies, the presence of lands that could contain heavy metals can be observed in the pavilion of 'El Llano' While the 'El Estrecho' pavilion, on the other hand, is not affected by the presence of mining land. The school 'San Isidro' is a double-line center that can reach a capacity of 300 students, but currently only two courses have a second unit, so its occupation is 200 students.
