The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, met Wednesday with a representative of the Association of Carriers of the Port, Horacio Sastre, which has its headquarters in the Franco Depot.
In the course of the meeting Sastre has explained some of the deficiencies that this infrastructure presents as the need to place signage in the vicinity of the current headquarters.
Castejón is committed to transfer to the Institute of Development the need to have a laundry in its facilities.
"Cartagena is one of the most important Ports in the cattle traffic, which requires that the facilities have an approved laundry that allows the carriers to keep their vehicles in the required hygienic-sanitary conditions.
I am going to transfer to INFO this demand of the professionals of the transport ", it has affirmed.
The representative of the transporters has emphasized the shortage of space that currently has the Deposit Franco, which with 115 associates has a waiting list of more than a hundred.
The mayor, as a member of the Franco Depository Consortium representing the City Council, has committed to convey the sector's concern in this regard.
Finally, Castejón has acquired the commitment to study the possibility of recovering the municipal subsidy to the Association of Carriers, which suppressed the previous government team in 2012.
