The Club Kampamento Base and the Party Commission of the Association of Neighbors of Perin, with the collaboration of the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena, organize the "V Donkey Trail".
A night race that will take place on Saturday 12 August from 19:30 pm, and presented this morning the Councilor for Sports, Ricardo Segado, the head of the organization, Nicolas Blanco, and the vice president of The Mar Menor Mental Health Association AFEMAR, José Luís Martínez.
A competition that is already becoming a "classic of the summer calendar" for the corridors of the Region, thanks in part to the promotion that is made of it from the council, and also represents a great opportunity "to know the environment Natural of this council and to participate in the various activities that the organization has prepared for this occasion, "said Segado.
The route of the race, which begins and ends at Plaza de la Marina, next to the Church of Perín, comprises a mixed circuit of path, track and rambla, with a distance of approximately 15 kilometers and a positive gradient of approximately 600 meters.
The test will be carried out in its greater time of night, being obligatory the use of independent lighting elements, with a duration of more than 4 hours, of the type frontal or frontal.
Entries are already closed for this competition, "for which many people, unfortunately, has been left out," said Blanco in his speech, which has highlighted the importance of this appointment for athletes, being the only trail that is Celebrates in summer in the Region.
He also wanted to emphasize the spectacular nature of the route that passes near the Peñas Blancas.
For his part, the vice-president of AFEMAR, the association to which the benefits obtained from this competitive test are destined, thanked them for the great help that this income entails for them, with whom they see closer "the dream of being able to rehabilitate a new Headquarters, more adapted to the needs of the people that are served from the association ".
AFEMAR has been working in the Campo de Cartagena area for 5 years with people with mental illness who return home after their recovery in a health center, and with their families.
For this they offer activities in their day center as well as home care program and occupational workshops.
