The first deputy mayor and responsible for the area of ​​Sustainable Development, José López, and Councilor for Finance, Isabel García, along with the general coordinator of Sustainable Development, Jesus Giménez, held a working meeting Friday with representatives of the associations Radio Taxi Cartagena, Tele Taxi Cartagena, Radio Taxi La Manga and Radio Taxi Mar Menor, who have been informed about the draft ordinance promoted from the area of ​​Sustainable Development, which has received for its formulation the proposals of all the associations Of the taxi and of those who have wanted to realize them.

In this line of joint work, López and García have asked the taxi representatives to provide in writing the details they understand of interest to incorporate in this draft, so that, once the document is defined, it will be presented to the municipal groups For its study prior to the approval procedure of the ordinance before the end of this year.

Likewise, progress has been made in complying with the November 2016 plenary agreement, in which it was agreed to urge the regional government to articulate the formula for the Cartagena taxi drivers to work at Corvera airport and to carry out a plan Of viability of the sector in our municipality.

On this last point it has been announced that, with the beginning of the 2017-2018 course, a research group from the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) will begin to carry out this work of viability.

Its essential lines will be the study of needs of licenses in the municipality;

The eurotaxi ratio in relation to the current situation of the sector;

The formulas of amortization of licenses;

The compatibility of the activity;

Formulas of optimization of the service (zones, shifts, etc.);

Influence of VTC licenses (intrusion);

Influence of mobility trends;

Stops and rotation (proposals);

Car park and industry expectations in the event of a future opening to the possibility of working at Corvera airport.

On the other hand, Councilor for Finance, Isabel García, has reported on the line of subsidies for non-profit business entities approved, on the initiative of the mayor, the Governing Board of 21 July and those who can opt these associations Of the taxi.

Likewise, García will study introducing specific aid to the sector in the draft budget, specifically for the adjustment to the Eurotax, which must be updated before the end of the year, and the possible amortization of licenses, as the sector studies show.
